This is more of a rant, than a review. You might think of as overly-pernickety and nit-picking, especially with world events raging, but it pisses me off when so much money is spent on a production, but rudimentary research has not been carried out.
So, I’m watching ‘Two Weeks In August’. Only halfway through, so no spoilers please. I’m enjoying it on the whole.
The first episode opens with Zoe and her family on a rickety taxi ride to the holiday house. When they arrive, the parents see they’ve got the booby prize room because they couldn’t afford the earlier flight. From the bright light it looks to be about 1.00pm.
They’ve got time to hang out by the pool, get strong armed into making dinner that night and walking to the town to visit the market (which I’d wager would close by early afternoon).
So, they’ve got a flight to Greece (I know it’s filmed in Malta) from the UK, which would take at least 3 and a half hours. They’ve had to get through security. They’ve then had to take a boat to the unnamed island, adding at least an hour, if not two, to their journey. And then the taxi.
Greece is TWO HOURS ahead of the UK.
Even if they’d got a 9am flight (bearing in mind they’d not been able to get the earlier, ‘more expensive’ one, the implication is theirs was later than that), there is NO WAY they’d have got to that house until about 6.00pm earliest.
